2023 - The Year of the Bo
Throughout the year JRMA Family Martial Arts offers non-curriculum weapon seminars. We explore the history of that seminar’s weapon and teach how the weapon can be used as a defense against attackers along with a weapon form. Our weapons range from Bokken to kamas to fan to bo to glowchucks, (glow-in-the-dark nunchucks), and everything in between. The seminars are offered to all age ranges. There is an additional fee for each seminar along with the purchase of the weapon.

Shihonuke
This is the first form in Kobudo for Bo. Shihonuke translates to “The Four Step Block” and is normally performed four times (one in each direction.)
In our seminar, we only covered the first “quarter” of Shihonuke, demonstrated by Mr. Rowan in this video!
